Shaun Todhunter – Director (Newcastle)
With a First-Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering, coupled with over 13 years’ experience in both civil and structural engineering, Shaun is ready to manage any project The Home Engineers takes on in the North East. His expertise covers housing developments, refurbishments to listed buildings, industrial units, and brownfield offshore rig alterations.
Kris Haigh – Director (Northumberland)
Kris is an engineer with over 25 years of industry experience. His skills are centred on new build and site developments, residential alterations, refurbishments, bespoke new builds, and structural surveys.
Craig Higgins – Director (Manchester)
With more than 18 years of experience, Craig manages The Home Engineers in Manchester. He frequently wears many hats to deliver innovative structural design solutions to clients without compromising on excellence and versatility.

Meet The Team
Flavio Alushi – Director (London)
Flavio is in charge of managing our London office. Having graduated with a MSc in Structural Engineering in 2016, he’s a Chartered Structural Engineer with more than 5 years experience working in the field. During this time he’s become accustomed to overseeing engineering teams of all different makeups.
Dan Patton - Director (South West - Devon and Cornwall)
Dan ensures our comprehensive structural engineering services are delivered across Cornwall and Devon. His background in civil and structural engineering has proven paramount in managing work for significant players in the oil, gas, and renewable industries. Dan’s role includes a focus on delivering quality and reliability in every project.
Morgan Steele – Senior Structural Engineer
Morgan is our Senior Structural Engineer and has been with us since 2021. Morgan is a vital part of our design team and consistently provides detailed technical structural design solutions for our projects. Morgan is capable with the use of software such as TEDDS & Tekla Structural Designer including AutoCAD. He is in regular contact with clients to ensure we are providing exactly what they require.
Brad Newby – Apprentice Engineer
Brad is completing an apprenticeship and has been with us since 2021. Brad is competent in the delivery of technical structural engineering drawings and has started carrying out structural calculations and structural design works for our projects. Brad is really starting to excel within his career and is a key member to our team.
Joe Gascoigne – Apprentice Engineer
Joe is completing an apprenticeship with us, after joining in 2021. Joe is proficient in the use of AutoCAD and competent in the delivery of structural engineering design drawings. Joe is starting to carry out structural calculations and structural designs for our residential projects under the supervision of senior staff.
Patricia Haigh – Office Manager and Administrator
Trish is our Office Manager and Administrator for all of our locations. Trish carries out all invoicing and has developed an excellent relationship with our regular clients. As well as this, she keeps us organised and up to date everything necessary to keep all of our locations operating efficiently.
Joanne Cahill – Accounting
Joanne manages all works associated with our finances and Accounting. In addition to this Joanne contributes to administrative duties with Patricia to ensure our business is running smoothly and efficiently.

As an engineering consultancy and services business specialising in domestic property alterations and enhancements, our team has great experience in completing extensions. The Gables, Washington
The Home Engineers provided a local steel frame for a large bespoke extension and refurbishment to an existing dwelling.
Bungalow Conversion, Warleggan
The Home Engineers (SW) undertook the structural design to convert an existing detached bungalow into a two-storey dwelling.
