The Requirements:

Achieve expansive apex glazing and vaulted dual-pitched ceilings without compromising lateral stability. Develop hybrid steel + glulam solutions and connection details that preserve the clean architectural intent while supporting floors/roofs and meeting buildability needs.

The Solution:

We engineered a hybrid steel and glulam frame to carry primary loads and provide the required stability. Working closely with the Architect, we refined connection detailing around the apex glazing and roof interfaces, coordinating the frame to maintain slender sightlines and a coherent package ready for issue.

The Outcome:

A light-filled, spacious holiday let with large apex glazing and vaulted ceilings, supported by a discreet, efficient structure. The coordinated package streamlines fabrication/installation and safeguards long-term performance.
