The works at The Queens Head Hotel in Morpeth included a full refurbishment of the existing grade II listed building as well as the provision of 2 No. rear wing extensions. The existing structure was in poor condition and required significant structural alternations / remedial works to enable suitable development. The proposals considered the historical nature of the building with original features being preserved where possible by using a heritage lead approach.
The Home Engineers carried out the civil and structural engineering design for the project which included foundations, steel beams and load bearing masonry design throughout. This building was then consequently turned into a Pleased To Meet You - restaurant and bar.
