Great Park Self – Build #3

We provided the structural design for this bespoke self-build dwelling in Great Park, Gosforth. The property is a load bearing masonry building that comprises of facing brickwork and glazing. Structural steel beams were designed for over the structural openings and to achieve the large open plan living space to the rear of the property. The property also benefits from feature apex glazing at the front of the property meaning we had to design a steel frame to satisfy lateral stability requirements and form the apertures for the glazing. Roof structure was designed using a construction comprising of steel ridge beams and laid-in timber roof rafters to achieve the desired vaulted ceilings throughout.
