64 Front Street

64 Front Street is a new build bespoke house in the popular area of East Boldon, Tyne & Wear. The project involved the full civil and structural engineering design associated with the development of a plot of greenfield land for the provision of 1 No. new build dwelling. The main design challenge was the fact that the levels had to be significantly reduced to suit planning constraints implemented by the local authority in relation to the potential risk ‘undermining’. It was necessary for us to design a sequential solution of reinforced concrete retaining walls which could be constructed in phases to ensure the stability of the existing boundary walls throughout the works.
